Richard lives in Warrington with his wife and daughter. He brings over 25 years of experience in Financial Services, having worked as a Bank Manager, Underwriting Manager, and Financial Adviser.
His broad experience allows him to offer practical, tailored advice for a variety of financial situations. Outside of work, Richard enjoys golf and socialising with family and friends.
Q: How do you tailor your advice to each individual’s situation?
A: I tailor my advice by gathering as much information as possible about each person’s personal and financial circumstances, so I can offer solutions that are truly aligned with their goals and needs.
Q: What inspired you to work in financial services?
A: My father worked in financial services as an IFA, and it made sense to follow in his footsteps. His job always sounded interesting and rewarding.
Q: What’s your proudest career moment so far?
A: Starting my journey in financial services as a graduate trainee with Abbey National. It gave me a great platform and the necessary qualifications to build a long-term career in the industry.

Samantha Packham
Samantha joined Profile Pensions in 2017 having previously enjoyed a highly successful career in some of the UK’s largest Banks including the Royal Bank of Scotland, Natwest and Coutts. Since beginning her financial services career in 2000, Sam has built up considerable experience and long-standing client relationships rooted in trust and honesty. Based in Doncaster, she lives with her husband Dave and enjoys long country walks with him in her free time.
Q: What’s a common pension myth you often correct?
A: That it’s too late to influence your pension or retirement – it’s never too late, and every contribution can still make a difference.
Q: If you weren’t working in pensions, what career would you choose?
A: I’d work with animals and would love to run a sanctuary for rescued and rehabilitated animals.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your work?
A: Speaking with my customers, hearing about their life stories, and helping them make the most of their retirement through their pension.

Paul Hepplestone
Paul has 30 years of experience in Financial Services. He previously worked as a Senior Financial Planning Manager with HSBC, advising clients in high street branches, and later ran his own IFA firm offering holistic financial advice across pensions, investments, and protection. Paul is married with two teenage sons. In his downtime, he enjoys watching all types of sports and spending time with his family.
Q: What’s one thing you wish everyone understood about pension flexibility?
A: That income can be varied throughout retirement – it’s not a fixed amount for life, and flexible pensions allow you to adapt to your changing needs.
Q: What do you enjoy personally?
A: Helping people achieve their retirement goals.
Q: How has pension advice changed since you started in the industry?
A: The introduction of flexible pensions has revolutionised the industry and given people far more options for how they access their retirement income.

Josefine Jonsson
Josefine joined Profile Pensions in February 2016 and has since worked closely with both new and existing customers. During her time with the company, she has successfully completed the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. She’s passionate about delivering excellent customer service in a way that is clear, simple, and easy to understand. Based in Chorley, Lancashire, Josefine lives with her partner Dean and their two young children. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling to new places, going on long walks, and training at her partner’s gym.
Q: What’s your favourite part of the job?
A: Speaking to customers and helping them understand what their retirement might look like. I love being part of their journey and helping them plan to achieve the lifestyle they want in retirement.
Q: What inspired you to work in financial services?
A: I’ve always been interested in finance and working with numbers, so financial services felt like a natural fit. I enjoy understanding how money works and helping people make sense of their financial options.
Q: Describe your ideal retirement – what does it look like?
A: In my ideal retirement, I’d spend lots of time with family and friends, all healthy and well. My dream would be to live abroad for part of the year or travel regularly with my loved ones.

Ashleigh Ramsbottom
Ashleigh has nine years of dedicated experience at Profile Pensions, bringing with her a wealth of industry knowledge and a strong customer-focused approach. She is passionate about building lasting relationships with her clients and offering guidance that helps them achieve a financially secure and fulfilling retirement. Based in Fylde, Lancashire, Ashleigh lives with her two beloved sausage dogs. Q: What motivates you to keep learning in this fast-changing industry?
A: The financial industry never stands still, and that’s what keeps it exciting. I’m motivated to keep learning so I can continue giving the best possible advice.
Q: How has working in pension advice changed your own approach to retirement?
A: It’s made me realise just how important it is to start planning early. I now prioritise long-term goals and make regular contributions, knowing how much of a difference it can make down the line.
Q: Why do you love what you do?
A: I love helping people. Pensions can be confusing, but when clients walk away feeling informed and in control, it’s incredibly rewarding. Being part of their retirement journey is a real privilege.
